Yes it is usually drivable all winter long. It is keep cleared same as city streets. Snow melts fast around here. So if bad one day try the next it should be fine. Snow is not deep enough …
Yes it is usually drivable all winter long. It is keep cleared same as city streets. Snow melts fast around here. So if bad one day try the next it should be fine. Snow is not deep enough around Canon City for shoeing. Have to get above 7500’ to get it deep enough.

I am terrified of heights and my brother suggested that I drive this. I focused on the road while my husband and daughter enjoyed the views. Once at the top there is a spot you can pull over a bit or like I did stop dead in the center; catch your breath and take a look around. Then continue after a bit. It would be a pretty steep hike even if you start on the reverse side and go against the traffic.
