Do bear in mind that traffic is SLOW... so don't compare this trip to 'Quick & sleek Western style" travelling. But indeed, as the M L station is really next door, the last option is really the most charming, as you will see a lot of the country. Do allow yourself a few mistakes on the way (eg erratic train travelling schedules ;-)) and do take PLENTY of time to do the trip. Make sure you ask some local how much the last tuk tuk for that distance should cost, or take a metered tuk tuk if available. Lots of drivers are honest (so you will adopt those for your future excursions ;-), some of them tend to brutally overcharge.
