A nice hiking trail, and rugged cliffs, made for some nice photos. A couple was getting married at the end of the beach. Restrooms and free parking. Full review by maitaimike2015

I understand there is limited parking and everyone seems to advise to arrive early. We are driving to Waimea Canyon in the early morning on a Wednesday and was hoping to stop at Shipwreck Beach and walk a short ways on the trail in the afternoon on our way back to Lihue. Is parking still going to be an issue later in the day?

I'd say that it's hard to predict. People come and go throughout the day. We usually have good luck and find parking though!
Agree. Poipu Beach. Keep in mind the currents do change so ask the life guards for safety information. It's usually posted but the lifeguards are so open to communicating information.
Hi! A friend recommended a tour to Waimea Canyon with an older gentleman guide named Juan Lugo. She said he is a wonderful storyteller and is native to the island and its colorful folklore. I am trying to find which tour company he is with so I can book the trip with the fabulous guide, Juan Lugo. Any help would be most appreciated. Thank you! Leslie Bride

I'm sorry I can't help you. We went as a hiking group from Vancouver Island and were self directed. I didn't notice any guided groups of hikers.
