The Boonshoft Museum of Discovery is Dayton's children's museum, science center, natural history museum, planetarium, observatory, and zoo. The Museum offers visitors of all ages hands-on learning opportunities, living biology lessons, special exhibitions, and more. The Museum is accredited by the American Alliance of Museums, affiliated with the Association of Children's Museums, and is a governing member of the Association of Science-Technology Centers. In addition, the Discovery Zoo, located on the second floor of the Museum, is fully accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums.

The museum has outdoor trails, a few activities, and a play area. Kids could spend hours here because it's a fun place to learn and have fun. Full review by Christa O
Would this be appropriate for 12 year olds? Didn't know if it's like a children's museum in Memphis our cm is geared towards 5 and under so didn't know if it was like that or not.

It if for all age groups. They have a planatarium is the museum and all kinds of educational things for adults and children. I enjoy the animals and all the displays and shows.

I would say yes especially if they have never been there before. There are some animals you can see and a neat little short movie. Twelve year olds are getting a little old for this but if they haven't been I would say go. They have amazing camps thru summer. My daughter has gone numerous times to the Harry Potter camp. They go all out. The kids have sos much fun.
