I was there 2 weeks ago. We went very early so had no problems with social distancing on the way up. Coming back it got busy so I can only imagine there would have been a queue to get up the steps at the finish. The platform at the top is not big so it definitely wouldn’t take a crowd.

Have to agree, it all looks a bit dodgy. We were met by a young fella who stepped out of a parked car to take our £5. When compared to the Marble Arch Caves car park just across the road, it fails miserably. Nevertheless, it a super walk.

The total distance is about 8 miles/ 13 Km or 15,000 steps( that’s from the higher carpark to the start of the track , which leads to the boardwalk — I tracked it on my recent walk. However it is a tough 8 miles / 13 km — and not for a “ casual walker” or older person as there are steep steps to climb at the end of an ascending walk. One I have certainly ticked of my bucket list !!!
