This park is run by the Army Corp of Engineers. They were charging about $5 for a car load and the pass is good all day. They honor the National Park pass for FREE admission. If you will be a repeat visitor or will visit other National parks in the USA this is a great value. I bought a lifetime pass so I don’t pay too much attention to prices or when they change. At Canyon Lake there are precious few lake swimming options. A FREE site is at the base of the dam below Overlook Park which is also free and is a great swimming hole. The park closes at sunset which offers an amazing sunset view over the lake.
