Has to ope one day a year... when it does, anyone can turn up and queue..... so the queue is miles long. .. absolutely no planning goes into this at all Full review by cuttsylefty

Yes for one day a year, this impressive 11th-century Norman castle, complete with motte and later manor house and imposing gatehouse is open to the public (note the manor house is a private dwelling)… Full review by David M

There were signs up this year stating that dogs were unfortunately not allowed, a not unreasonable stipulation for visiting what is in effect a private garden.
