I toured during the summer, so everything generally was closed except for the library and some areas that would be considered public. I do seem to recall a comment from my tour guide mentioning the fact that Harvard facilities are 'off limits' to the public. One could appreciate this comment in light of the fact that these tours are popular and as such, would be very disruptive to the academic goings-on. One thing I do remember was that I wanted to go to a seminar about JFK and his Harvard stay. Unfortunately this seminar was not available in the summer, regardless, it had to be delivered somewhere on campus, maybe a classroom or the library. That's the best I can do. Good luck.
