The renowned American folk artist Stephen Huneck and his wife, Gwen, turned the property into a unique interactive artist installation that celebrates the profound connection between people and their pets. Dog Mountain is covered with hiking trails and dog ponds. Wildflowers abound in the summer and snow-shoeing is a favorite activity in the winter. Visitors come from all over the world to visit the Dog Chapel, shop at the Stephen Huneck Gallery, and attend a Dog Party. The grounds are open from dawn til dusk to people and their dogs. Leashes are optional on Dog Mountain. Dogs are not just welcome here, they are cherished!

The trails are beautiful, but hilly. There is shade, and a fabulous pond to cool off in. Our Lucy overheated easily, so we did short hikes, and kept returning to the pond. Bring a few tennis balls if your dog likes to swim. Your dog will likely have plenty of canine company, always a furry face to play with at dog mountain. Enjoy, it's wonderful.
Q:
Is it open this week ?
