Visits to the sanctuary are usually made via whale watching vessels that depart from Provincetown, Barnstable, Plymouth, Boston, Gloucester and Newburyport. Most whale watch companies operate from May through October. Trips generally last about 3-4 hours; some companies offer multiple trips during the day. Companies that participate in our WhaleSENSE program are listed online, and additional information about whale watch companies can also be found via the Massachusetts Office of Travel and Tourism. Fishing trips can also be booked via one of the licensed charter fishing boats in the region; (related information can be found via the Stellwagen Bank Charter Boat Association).
