Very beautiful, well worth the detour. There is still snow up there and we were unable to do any walks. Mirror Lake and walk to it, still frozen and snowy. Enjoyed the drive. Full review by DMfromTx

From Yellowstone south exit you need to get on Hwy 130 south after Rawlins,WY. This will take you through Saratoga, WY and you will see turn for Snowy Range Scenic bypass. The road is fine for 36ft RV there are some parking lots you may fit in for the views. Continue to Laramie, WY then head on 287 south to CO. I estimate it may take you 9-10 hrs or so.
How long does it take to drive the snowy range scenic byway from say, Estes Park to Saratoga? Is it open mid-May?

I'm heading out to WY & hiking in Snowy Range next weekend. Do I need to bring bear spray? Haven't heard if there have been any bear sightings on the trails this season. Thanks!
A:
I was there 3 days & saw no signs of bears so I would say that bear spray probably not needed. I didn’t have any with me.
Going camping in the Snowy Range this July, any information on the campgrounds and if any swimming is allowed in the lakes or creeks? Thank you!

There is a very good guide on the visitlaramie site. You can download a map and there are many points of interest outlined. Yes, there is camping but I don't know anything about the campgrounds. The above site has some listed. It is a lovely drive and I did not find any part of the road difficult. Enjoy your trip!
