This is a great way to get a chance to see many of the huge trees if you're time crunched. They are truly amazing and it is a primeval experience to get a chance to be next to them. The walk itself i… Full review by RoseInTheDesert

I'm planning to visit in the next few days. I was reading about food storage, etc. while in the park because of the bears. We are planning to park the vehicle at certain areas - Foothills Visitor Center, hike through Congress Trail & General Sherman Tree, & possibly Moro Rock. This is the 1st day of our trip so we will have an ice chest, drinks, scented items (sunscreen, lotions, soap, etc.) in the car. I'm not certain, but I believe dogs are allowed only on paved trails -- this would not include many of the more popular trails, including Congress. IMHO (which you may ignore ! ), I would not take my pet on these trails - due to potential crowded conditions, challenges to observing/enjoying wildlife, and lack of areas for pet relief... I suggest to check the nps website before you arrive with a dog.
