This beach is basically unswimmable. waves are too big. you can swim, but it's difficult. the waves will knock you down. go to palmilla if u want a swimmable beach. Full review by 932arnoldc

I don't recall seeing much of anything near Santa Maria Beach other than the hotels and hotel restaurants. (But I wasn't explicitly looking for a restaurant, either.) You may want to bring a picnic lunch. Also, Uber to and from this beach was quite easy and inexpensive - so you could always leave and come back, if needed.
