Thanks for your enquiry about visiting Ramsey. Unfortunately, we only allow registered assistance dogs to land on the island. This is because of the large number of ground and burrow nesting birds and the fact that we are a working sheep farm. If you still wish to visit the island there is a dog sitting service in St Davids and our boat company Thousand Islands will be able to give you the details. Dogs are also permitted on some of the round Ramsey boat trips. If you think your dog would be OK on the boat, this would be another way to see the island. Sea conditions permitting, Ramsey is open to the public daily from Easter to the end of October. Boats leave St Justinian's lifeboat station (2 miles west of St David's) for the island at 10am and 12pm, returning at 4pm. Numbers on the boat are limited so it is a good idea to book a place in advance to avoid disappointment on the day. To book please contact our boat operator 'Thousand Islands Expeditions' on 01437 721721 or call in at their boat office in Cross Square, St David's. The return boat fee is £12 for adults, £5.50 for children. Landing is free for RSPB members, £6 for adult non-members, £3 children. For full directions and more details about round-island boat trips please see Thousand Islands Expeditions website Best Wishes Lisa Ramsey Warden
