There is a required time to arrive for the night program but if we are late ( arriving at Phoenix Airport 2 pm in late December) will they let us in? I’m awaiting response from KPNO

I believe you can get in up to before the actual sunset time but after that you aren’t allowed to drive up the mountain. They are super fussy about stray light spoiling their data gathering. …

Hi Angie. Traveling alongside the mountain to get to the Observatory was scary. Its not a straight road. Desending down the peak was not as scary. If u are afraid of heights or not …
