The comments, blogs and reviews about this stretch of road are true. Very beautiful and the Hogback part was a bit nerve wracking. A must-see when you’re in the area. Full review by foodieluvtravel

It was 30 minutes longer to get to our destination when we decided to take this route and my gosh it was well worth it. So if you are not in a rush do it Full review by yasemin2k

We drove from HW 89 to Boulder on this beautiful road. The scenry is beautiful and there are some pull-outs to enjoy the surroundings. We expected more travellers along the way as it was rather quiet. Full review by HaMo1822
Is this correct that it runs from Escalante to Boulder? How do we find the beginning of the road in Escalante ?

Can anyone suggest the very best stops? I'd like to see the petrified forest state park and Anazasi state park. How long should we allow for those? We have limited mobility meaning no big hikes but certainly we want to walk to see different views. We will leave Bryce early planning to be in Torrey around 5. Thanks for any help.

Stop at the overlook on the Hog Bag. Stop Escalante Rock Shop near the petrified forest.
How long did you take to drive Route 12 from Bryce to Torrey, We are thinking of doing the same. Did you stay overnight at Torrey and then go on to where? Thanks!

From Bryce to Escalante it takes about 1 hour. From Escalante your drive time will be 1.5 hours. That's if you drive without stops. Along the way the views are epic and I would stop at the Kiva coffee shop, Hells Back Bone Grill and Anasazi State Park Museum. Honestly to really enjoy the drive I would take the day.

Hey Bunny, When we drove through 12 (September), I saw a few bike riders but it is out of my league. The road is paved (but some areas have no shoulder (other than dirt) and there are quite a few hills. I cannot include a link here but I googled "biking scenic byway 12" and there was a good article on the site visitutah that came up. Hope you find it helpful.
