HARBOR TOWN AREA ASSOCIATION Harbor Town is situated on the larger of two lakes between interstate 70 and interstate 64. Harbor Town consists of 156 Townhomes each owned by individual owners. The lakes and community began in 1961 when Ellis Ellerman and Ira Nathan envisioned a lake large enough for recreation and close to the City of St. Louis. This vision ended up being two lakes, 625 acre Lake St. Louis and 55 acre Lake St. Louise. By 1967 several more investors had come and gone. Harbor Town Complex was built along interstate 70 on the large lake beginning around 1971. The complex was designed to be summer vacation homes for the affluent in St. Louis.
