The view is indescribable and massive. The Grand Canyon village has nice places to eat but it’s crowded. Better to go outside of the park. Full review by X8774BFdianab

Visiting the Grand Canyon for one day in May. Plan to see the views via the park shuttles. Is there a certain order to do the colored shuttles in (orange, blue, red??), and can you see all of the viewpoints marked for each shuttle in one day and still have time to visit the village and Visitor's Center? Thanks

From what we were told by the Grand Canyon Rail staff was that the shuttles are unreliable so things can not got to plan. You might be on the train so maybe not a issue but still worth keeping it in mind. We did not use the shuttle and still had a great time, took a walk west out of the village and kept going along the trail, had a quiet picnic away from the crowds at start of Bright Angel Trailhead and then planned to walk to Trail View Overlook but it was cloudy and snowy so then had a look around the village relaxed around the El Tovar. If the weather was better we would have probably took the shuttle to Yavapai Point, but with the cloud cover it was a bit hit and miss so maybe next time. Felt sorry for people who had booked tours, they were literally driven around to various cloudy viewpoints and saw very little for the money they paid in advance. Good luck whatever you decide to do, but the train from Williams is pretty cool and worked perfectly for us.
Q:
Is it accessible for wheel chair?

We are planning to go on the mule ride down to Phantom Ranch. My kids will be 9 and older, but I am nervous that they may not meet the height requirement. Do they measure the kids before the ride? -We are at least a year out (fingers cross they grow)

Hello, I recommend reaching out to Xanterra directly (888) 297-2757. The 4'9" requirement is so that the child can properly fit into the saddle and reach the stir-ups. They may have a smaller size saddle, but I really do suggest calling them well in advance. I know reservations are currently over a year out for the overnight ranch trip. Hope this helps.
