I think most people use it to island hop in the Yasawas. There were a couple of people at our resort who were staying at 2-3 island resorts in the Yasawas using this pass. The Octopus Resort and MantaRay Resorts seemed most popular.

And for the Navutu Stars drop off / pickup, does the ferry pull up in front of the resort so they can get us by small boat, or does it only go into the channel farther away in between the three resorts nearby?

Bula - Yes, you can enter and leave the Captains Lounge as you wish. At Navutu Stars we will stop off shore and a tender boat form the Resort will come to collect you - Vinaka
