Great place to experience nature. I explored the Washington Ditch. It was an easy, and very enjoyable walk. I'll return soon. Full review by Pat S

Hi, mrsmcadam2016, It is safe to bring your child along the boardwalks, however, it may not be the most comfortable. The weather in July is typically in the 90's with high humidity and biting flies and mosquitoes can be bad in the shade on the boardwalks. Instead of going on a walk, I would suggest using the Lake Drummond Wildlife Drive for touring the refuge in your car. Entrance to the Wildlife Drive is 3120 Desert Road, Suffolk, VA. A $5 fee per vehicle is required. The wildlife drive is open from 7am- 7pm daily. You can also visit our website for more information. The link can be found on our listing page.
