This is a remote and beautiful route. Other than high winds, blizzards, it is a spectacular journey winter or summer. Just check the forecast beforehand! Full review by D_Willy_S

Hi! We really like the Cowboy Trail as a scenic road, so it is worth considering if you have a lot time to add to your trip. The Cowboy Trail in this part of Alberta, being so far from the mountains, isn't quite as grand as southern part. The road goes through rolling hills, so you really get a great sense of the landscapes of the prairies and foothills, however. A couple of suggestions. On TripAdvisor, search for "Things to do" in the various towns and cities on the way. You might find there are unique things that are less well known, but might be worth a stop just to see. We've just been to the stunning University of Alberta Botanic Gardens just north of Devon - slightly further north than you seem to want to go, but totally worth the detour: If you have some time. There is SO much construction going on these days, so it might be worth going online to 511 Alberta, to see if there big projects that could slow you down. If you have time, it's certainly worth the drive. And you just might find things that you might need and want to make some extra time to see...
