Fantastic building, always wanted to see the inside in person, and it did not disappoint. HOWEVER... one employee marred the experience by practically yelling at us to back away while taking pictur… Full review by Japokie
There is no viewing deck at the Chrysler building; currently, the best panorama of the New York City skyline is The Top of the Rock at Rockefeller center high above the skating rink; it costs around $28 dollars for adults to stay as long as they want; it is without question the best view in New York........

The viewing deck at the Chrysler Building has been closed for decades, so get your Manhattan views either at 30 Rock or the Empire State, or the magnificent One World Trade observatory downtown. BUT, don't miss the Chrysler Bldg...the others are just high views; this building is pure art, like nothing else in the world. The very coolest introduction to it is a short old BBC Documentary hosted by actor John Malkovich. It online on YouTube. Search for BBC documentary, Chrysler Bldg, Malkovich. You'll see the unforgettable lobby with its 30 elevators, the largest ceiling mural in the world (for its time), and the decor that was the absolute peak of the Art Deco style. Malcovich takes you up to the top, and you see the world famous eagle-headed gargoyles up close, and the original private quarters of Mr. Chrysler. Wildest of all, there is old film of the architect wearing a hat in the shape of the famous spire of the building at the opening celebration in 1929/30, and a group of dancers dressed as "Machine Men" prancing around the parapets. Best of all, you'll see the absolutely stunning array of pointed windows culminating in the sharp spire...with great shots of it all, by day and by night.
Is their a ticket which covers the viewing platform and a meal in the centre.

Bear in mind that any building you go up will not have that building in the view, so I would recommend going up the rock or one world, as you'll want the Chrysler or the empire state in your view. And eat somewhere else entirely as you'll be paying well over the odds at any of those buildings.
