Fascinating discoveries along the boardwalk nature trails about the hot springs and cave pool here, and the unique and varied wildlife that make this lovely woods and marshland home. Full review by Margaretac53

Literally just a cave and basin. What you see in the picture is all there is to it. The sole view you get is pretty good, though. You’re paying ~$10 per person for at most 1 minute in the cave. You’… Full review by mhe08080202

A:
The Cave is a separate admission, and each member of your party has to pay to get into the cave. Please don't waste your money!

The Cave & Basin National Historic Site has an all terrain wheelchair surface, a wheelchair friendly bathroom, and guides upon request. The paved access road/path to the Museum is quite steep, but shouldn't be an issue for a motorised wheelchair. The tunnel to the cave is quite narrow, but if you go early, you won't have to worry about it being too crowded.
Q:
Can you actually get in the water?

No. The Banff Upper Hot Springs Pool is where you need to go, as mentioned. It is very nice, clean and with a great view. However, during certain winter and spring months it is NOT hot spring water, but heated municipal water because there's not enough flow to the natural hot springs. The historic pool is small, sulpher smelling, and has the protected snails.
Q:
Is there any age restriction? As I'm age of kids?
